Spotters dream as supercars dominate the streets
A rare silver Jaguar E Type roars into Alderley Edge, and a crowd of photographers rush to the roadside.
As the £1m vehicle drives past the pack snapping away, onlookers ask: "who are they waiting for?", expecting an A list star or footballer to be behind the wheel.
But in Alderley Edge it's the car that's the star to this dedicated group of photographers - not the lucky driver.
For this affluent Cheshire village has become the northern hotspot for supercar spotters - a dedicated band of motor enthusiasts who hang around all day waiting to snap photos of jaw-dropping vehicles.
And they certainly don't have to wait too long - next to drive past is a £200,000 Lamborghini Aventador, followed swiftly by a £250,000 Ferrari Pista Spider.
Supercars in Alderley Edge
Dubbed the "Knightsbridge of the north" by the supercar spotters, Alderley Edge is at the apex of Cheshire's Golden Triangle - where dazzling wealth is adequately on display in the desirability of motors regularly roaring in and out of the village.
There is an eye-popping procession of Lamborghinis, Bugattis, McLarens and rare vintage cars worth millions and millions of pounds breezing along the main London Road of a weekend, and an even more regular array of luxury Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Range Rovers and Porsches.
But the spotters don't even bother getting their cameras out for the Bentleys or Rolls Royce any more - that's just how "common" they are around here.
